Bradley, H. Cornell (Rev.)

Rev. Cornell Bradley was ordained as a Jesuit priest following a brief stint as a teacher at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., and DeNobili School in Dhanbad, India.  In 1993, the Maryland Jesuit leadership became aware of allegations that Bradley sexually abused three individuals, including two fifteen-year-old boys, between 1968 and 1988. One of the allegations was confirmed to be an abusive relationship with an adult woman. In response, Bradley was sent to a mandated residential psychiatric treatment program until his return to the ministry in 1995, where he was assigned as chaplain to the St. Joseph’s University basketball team.

In 2006, he acknowledged that he sexually abused an adult male in the 1980s. In 2007, he was accused of sexually abusing a minor in 1973 and did not deny the allegation. Five more complaints, three from Gonzaga students and two from St. Josephs, soon followed.
