Diocese of Camden Bankruptcy
Diocese of Camden Bankruptcy
On October 1, 2020, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Camden filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As a result of the bankruptcy filing, the Federal Bankruptcy Court thereafter set a bar date, which is the deadline to file a claim. In March 2024, a federal judge approved a plan for the Catholic Diocese of Camden to pay $87.5 million to survivors of child sexual abuse. The settlement will be funded over five years and includes provisions for enhancing child protection protocols within the Diocese.
We work diligently with attorney Pat Noaker to bring justice for those who have been harmed within the Diocese of Camden. Having successfully represented many hundreds of survivors of sexual abuse in similar bankruptcies filed by Catholic dioceses and religious orders, we used our experience to make sure the rights of survivors were protected and justice was achieved.
