Father Kenneth Farabaugh was ordained on May 25, 1963. There are multiple credible accusations of sexual abuse against him. In February 1993, a Catholic Charities counselor reported that she had learned through counseling that Farabaugh had sexually assaulted a fifteen-year-old student at John Carroll High School in 1985. Farabaugh identified the victim but denied abuse. In 2000, the survivor reiterated the report, having withdrawn her accusation seven years prior after wishing not to be involved. Ten minutes before the Harford County Sheriff’s Office was to conduct a polygraph test, Farabaugh drove his car into a tree and was killed.
Since his suicide in 2000, several survivors have come forward detailing instances where Farabaugh groomed, kissed, molested, and raped them in various locations, such as St. Bernadine, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, and John Carroll School.
