Robert Lentz was ordained on May 16, 1964. In May 2002, a survivor reported that Lentz sexually abused him in 1964 when he was approximately ten. The Archdiocese later entered a settlement with him regarding the abuse. In October 2002, a man reported that Lentz sexually abused him in 1967 and 1968 as a teenager. Since the Archdiocese publicly disclosed these allegations in late 2002, several survivors have reported other instances of Lentz’s abuse. The abuse reports included fondling, masturbation, and attempted rape.
In 2003, Lentz was forced to retire. He received a full pension and retirement benefits until his death on September 15, 2007.
