Kolodziej, Michael (Fr.)

Father Michael Kolodziej was ordained on May 23, 1970. In 2013, multiple reports of sexual abuse by Michael Kolodziej surfaced. One man stated that Kolodziej abused him at Archbishop Curley High School in 1978 and 1979. The abuse occurred in the gym locker room, where Kolodziej would strip down his underwear and force the student to do the same. He would then sexually assault the victim, using his hands and fingers to grope and penetrate him. The victim reported the abuse to the school in 2013, leading to a settlement between the victim and the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Franciscan Order.

In the same year, another survivor reported a similar instance of abuse by Kolodziej in 1978. The Archdiocese suspended Kolodziej and prohibited him from residing in the Archdiocese. Following public disclosure of the abuse, four additional men have reported that Kolodziej abused them during their times at St. Francis High School and Cardinal O’Hara High School.
