Yeakle, Howard F. (Fr.)

Father Howard F. Yeakle was ordained in 1951. A woman reported that her three brothers informed her that Yeakle had sexually abused them as children while at St. Brigid from 1961 to 1969. Yeakle acted as a father figure to the family after the survivors’ father died. A second survivor reported that Yealke also acted as a father figure to him because his biological father was distant and would also give him alcohol. Years later the survivor began having dreams of Yeakle sexually abusing him and believed these were repressed memories. A third survivor reported that Yeakle touched his genitals while in a pool locker room. Since Yeakle died on February 15, 1988, no charges were filed.
