Father Frederick Brinkmann is a former Redemptorist priest who served as an associate pastor at St. Michael’s church in Baltimore in the late 1970s. Brinkmann reportedly had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old in 1976-77, buying the survivor alcohol and marijuana. On one occasion at the St. Michael’s rectory, Brinkmann orally raped the victim, claiming it was “okay in God’s eyes.” The Archdiocese contacted the Redemptorists, who denied knowledge of the incident but claimed they were unsurprised by the allegations.
