Father Charles Coyle was ordained in 1965 and has multiple credible accusations of sexual abuse against him. In 2002, a survivor came forward in Massachusetts, reporting that Charles Coyle, then a guidance counselor at Newton South High School, sexually abused him and another boy in the 1970s. Coyle allegedly befriended the victim and later orally raped him. Coyle’s faculties were suspended by the Archbishop of New Orleans when the allegations emerged. In 2003, two brothers reported being sexually abused by Coyle during counseling sessions at the College of Notre Dame. The abuse included fondling and rape. Coyle was also known to have lived with teenage boys. Charles Coyle died on July 1, 2015.
