Father Anthony Lorento was ordained on January 22, 1972. In 1994, a survivor reported that Lorento made sexual advances when she was sixteen in 1981. In July 2017, another survivor reported that Lorento sexually abused him in 1980 when he was 12. The abuse consisted of inappropriate touching and oral rape. A settlement was reached with the Archdiocese concerning the abuse in 2018. There is very little information about Lorento before he was assigned to St. Leo’s parish. In the early 2000s, the Pallotine Order said that Lorento had been assigned to a church in Brooklyn, NY, in 1989 and left the priesthood in 1998.
