Rochacewicz, Thomas (Br.)

Thomas Rochacewicz became a brother on August 2, 1968. There are several credible accusations of sexual abuse against Rochacewicz. In 1987, a woman reported to the Archdiocese that Rochacewicz had fondled her when she was fourteen and a student at St. Michael. The abuse consisted of fondling and inappropriate touching. The Archdiocese reported the abuse to law enforcement, stating that the survivor was “encouraged” to report her abuse. In the letter, they also identified a second victim that contacted the Redemptorist order in 1989, but no further information was available.

Since then, several survivors have reported that Rochacewicz had sexually abused them. Abuse reports varied, including fondling, digital penetration, kissing, oral rape, vaginal rape, or nude photography. The Archdiocese has settled with some survivors regarding Rochacewicz’s history of abuse. Thomas Rochacewicz died on May 10, 2015.
