In 1997, a survivor reported to the Christian Brothers that Father Dimitroff sexually abused him as a Bishop Walsh High School student, beginning in the early 1980s. Dimitroff admitted having relations with the boy but insisted that he thought he was over the age of eighteen. The State Attorney’s Office for Allegany County investigated but closed the investigation when the victim did not respond to inquiries. Despite the abuse and his admission, Dimitroff was allowed to reside on the campus of Calvert Hall High School until 2002.
