Father Robert Duerr was ordained on May 22, 1948. In 2002, a former nun assigned to St. Rita’s Parish from 1952 to 1953 reported witnessing Duerr “fondling altar boys.” The woman tried to report the abuse to the Archdiocese in 1996 but was informed they could do nothing since Duerr was deceased. In 2012, another survivor reported to the Archdiocese that Duerr raped and sexually abused her for a decade in the early 1950s. Duerr is believed to have given the survivor gifts and treated her like his girlfriend. He died on August 11, 1982.
