Father Francis Sweeney was ordained on May 1, 1961. In 1993, Sweeney admitted himself into a mental health facility and confessed to the sexual abuse of two young boys in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. After his death, the Paulist Fathers released further information regarding allegations against Sweeney. A survivor interviewed in 2019 reported that Sweeney anally raped them in 1991 when they were six years old. Sweeney died on August 8, 2013.
